英国パラ水泳チームと横浜市の子どもたちとの交流
2018年9月21日（金）に横浜国際プールにて、英国パラ水泳チームの選手と横浜市の大曽根小学校の児童による交流会が行われました。
英国の選手らは、9月22日から24日まで「2018 ジャパンパラ水泳大会」に出場するために来日されています。2020年の東京オリンピック時に横浜市は英国選手の事前キャンプ地になることが既に決定しているため、この機会に交流の場を設けることで機運を高めるきっかけとなりました。
私たちプロジェクトメンバーは、今回は主に全体の進行のサポートを行い、会場整備や小学生の誘導や質問の英語通訳などを行いました。
小学生たちの質疑応答や交流を通して、イギリスについて、Team GBについて、パラ水泳について、知識を深めることができたのではないかと思います。
今回の交流を１つのきっかけとし、2020年東京オリンピック時の英国のホストタウンとして地域全体を盛り上げていきます！
【Activity report】
Interaction event between the British Para-Swimming team and children from Yokohama city
On September 21st, an interaction event between the British Para-Swimming team and students of Osone Primary school located in Yokohama city was held at Yokohama International Swimming Pool.
The British swimmers were visiting Japan from September 22nd to 24th. Their main purpose of visit was to compete in Japan Para Swimming Championships 2018. As it has already been confirmed that Yokohama city will be hosting the British swimming team for their pre-game training camp, this event was a great opportunity for all parties to build momentum.
During the event, members of KEIO 2020 project supported the facilitation of the event, set up the venue, guided the participants, and translated questions the children had for the athletes. We strongly believe that we were able to deepen our knowledge about the UK, Team GB, Para-Swimming throughout the Q&A session and interaction we had with the British athletes.
We will take advantage of this event to liven up the event as well as vitalize the local community as the Team GB’s host town in 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
