10月28日(日)、横浜マラソン2018にボランティアとして参加しました。

この経験を通して、改めて多くの人によってこのイベントが支えられているのだと感じました。同時に、大勢の人が関わっているからこそ安全かつ円滑に大会を運営する上で、協力しながら一人一人が周りを見て臨機応変に行動することの重要性を実感しました。また、KEIO 2020 projectとして初めての大規模な外部イベントへの参加だったため他団体がどのようにイベント運営を行なっているかを間近で見ることができました。そして、今後私達がどのようにイベント運営をしていけるのかということについても考えるきっかけとなりました。

2020年東京オリンピックはさらに大きな規模となるので、今回のボランティア経験を活かして今後の活動に取り組んでいきたいです。

最後となりましたが、横浜マラソン組織委員会事務局様、当日一緒に活動させていただいたボランティアをはじめとするお世話になった全ての方々に感謝申し上げます。ありがとうございました。

【Activity Report 】
On October 28th, over 80 members from the KEIO 2020 Project participated in the Yokohama Marathon 2018 as volunteers.

The Yokohama Marathon consists of more than 28,000 runners and 8,000 volunteers, and we, members of the KEIO 2020 Project, were in charge of returning baggage to runners and operating the general information desk. It was memorable how the runners thanked us with a big smile on their faces as we returned the baggage while telling them to take care.

Through this experience, we recognized once again that this event was made with the help of many people, including the runners and volunteers. Simultaneously, we realized that it is important for each individual to act according to circumstances while supporting each other to smoothly and safely operate such a big event. Moreover, s
​ince it was our first time participating in an event held by an external organization, we were able to closely see how they work to run large scale events. It provided us an opportunity to reflect on possible ways to run future events of our own.

Considering that Tokyo 2020 will be even larger, we will need to furthermore develop today’s experience for our future activities.

Lastly, we would like to thank the Yokohama Marathon Organizing Committee and everyone who supported us including the other volunteers we worked with. Thank you very much.
